After 20 years in private industry Jan Mack returned to college at CSUSB and earned a bachelors of science in biology. He then attended UCR for a Ph.D. in Biochemistry but, after a short while, left the program to take over the job as Chemistry stockroom manager.
Jan began work at CSUSB in February 1993 and plans to retire from the chemistry department because he can't think of a better place to work. As chief cook and bottle washer Jan is responsible for the upkeep of all the instructional labs, which includes all of the chemicals, equipment, instruments, and supplies. Jan Mack is a member of the National Association of Scientific Materials Managers and attends their conferences as often as possible.
